Alexander W. Van Maren grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin where he was an active member in his community working with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Boy Scouts of America.

In 2010, Mr. Van Maren earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Austin E. Cofrin School of Business. In 2015, Mr. Van Maren earned his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois College of Law.

Prior to joining Foote, Mielke, Chavez & O'Neil, LLC, Mr. Van Maren worked for the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic in Rockford. While there, he provided legal services to people in the Rockford community who might not otherwise have had access to legal representation. While working for the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic, Mr. Van Maren provided legal services to victims of domestic violence, the elderly, and also worked on issues of child support, and child visitation and custody.

Mr. Van Maren also worked at the Northern Illinois College of Law's Foreclosure Mediation Clinic, representing clients through Kane County's Residential Foreclosure Mediation Program.

Mr. Van Maren is a member of the Kane County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
