On June 14th, 2021, a massive fire engulfed the Chemtool plant in Rockton, IL, sending huge plumes of smoke containing toxic materials into the air. Officials ordered a mandatory evacuation for all residents and businesses within a 1-mile radius of the plant; the evacuation order remained in effect until June 18 as the fire continued to burn.

On or around June 17, 2021, FMCO Law filed a Class Action Complaint alleging that the June 14, 2021 fire at Chemtool Incorporated, located in Rockton, IL, resulted in the loss of use and enjoyment of property and also resulted in interruption to business operations in the surrounding area. The claims alleged are limited to damages resulting from the loss of use and enjoyment of homes and businesses within a certain radius of the Chemtool facility fire. Potential damages include room and board, meals, travel expenses and any cost associated with the requirement of having to evacuate your home and/or business. The Court has not yet certified this case as a class action.
